3 Ways to Boost Your Volunteer Recruitment on Giving Tuesday

November 16, 2022

Giving Tuesday is kicking off the holiday giving season again this year, and while organizations encourage their supporters to give financially, many are also interested in the gift of time! If you haven’t included volunteer recruitment into your Giving Tuesday strategy in the past, here are three easy ways to get ready before November 29th.

Show others how they can #GiveTime with your organization

This is a great time to highlight your end of year opportunities, and to post and share any family or group opportunities you have coming up. Check out VolunteerMatch’s Best Practice for Recruiting Online to make sure your opportunities stand out, so you can attract the volunteers you need.

And, if you’re looking to design new opportunities for volunteers, here are some additional resources to help you create those high-impact volunteer roles:

Share the story of your volunteer impact to attract volunteers

One of the most important things to prospective volunteers is making a difference in their community! On Giving Tuesday, share the compelling stories of those who give their time to your organization. This could mean highlighting an individual volunteer or the accomplishments of your volunteer program. The most engaging stories of impact contain both quantitative and qualitative data.

Don’t know where to start? Generate ideas with this worksheet: Telling the Story of Volunteer Impact

Enter the #GiveTime Sweepstakes, sponsored by U.S. Bank

Thanks to the generosity of U.S. Bank, this Giving Tuesday two sweepstakes winners can recieve an hour-long session of their choosing: A Team Training, a 1:1 Coaching Conversation, or a VolunteerMatch Account Optimization Discussion. Participating is easy! Learn more here.
