veterans_and_militaryIn time for Veterans Day, we’re pleased to announce an improvement to our system in order to better support active military personnel, veterans and their families.

Now when you post your opportunities at VolunteerMatch, you can select a new category, “Veterans & Military Families,” to make it easy for volunteers to find your listings.

Who should use “Veterans & Military Families”?

By choosing “Veterans & Military Families” for your listings, visitors to our Advanced Search page or any of our hundreds of network partner sites will be able to quickly find your listings.

Use this category if:

  • Your mission involves helping troops, veterans, or their families.
  • You have special programs to involve troops, veterans, or their families as volunteers.

With nearly three million active and reserve personnel serving in the Armed Forces today, the new category is a reminder of all the ways that military service and community service can work together to meet the critical needs of our nation.
