The holidays are a busy time of the year for for everyone, whether we’re talking about business or home and family life. As much as we all think about giving back during this time, oftentimes company-led initiatives are passed over by employees who already have too much on their plates to dedicate extra time to office volunteering.

The trick to increasing your employee engagement during the holidays is to make it easy. The best way to do this is to bring the volunteering to them! Invite organizations to come to your office and talk to your employees about their causes. Then have them set up meaningful projects that people can work on during breaks.

For example, there are many organizations in the VolunteerMatch network who need help with putting together meal kits, wrapping donated gifts, or making holiday cards for hospital patients. Contact these organizations directly to set up a project for your employees.

These on-site activities are not only a great way to help out a great cause and get your employees engaged, they are a nice way of building team camaraderie and enabling your employees to decompress during a somewhat stressful time of year.
