To celebrate National Volunteer Week this year, VolunteerMatch client Exelon has organized more than 150 community service project throughout their service areas.
Exelon has long been an energetic and impressive member of the VolunteerMatch ecosystem. They’re a multi-year recipient of the Employee Volunteer Program of the Year Award and the subject of a case study about getting an employee volunteer program off the ground.
Furthermore, in 2012 Exelon employee volunteers donated 105,000 hours of their time to the community, which is the equivalent of over 2,600 work weeks – or almost 50 years of full-time service. That’s something to be proud of!
It seems Exelon is determined to keep that momentum going by running a stellar National Volunteer Week program this year, using their VolunteerMatch site as a hub. Even better, they have invited friends and family of employees to join them in giving back.
Projects cover three primary focus areas: Education, Environment and Diversity & Inclusion, and range from renewing green spaces, feeding the hungry, and mentoring students to facility improvements at various nonprofit organizations.
So far, over two thousand volunteers have participated in over 150 Exelon-sponsored and employee-led projects. If you’re interested in getting involved, check out their National Volunteer Week event page.
Keep it up, Exelon employees, we’re proud of you!
