By now you’ve probably noticed some major changes to VolunteerMatch. Aside from revamping the overall look and feel of our site and making it easier for you to recruit skilled volunteers, we also introduced a brand new user support system. Partnering with Get Satisfaction, we launched our Community Powered Support Page to give nonprofits and volunteers more ways to get help and connect in our network.
Why I’m Excited
Personally, I am very excited about the addition of the Community. Unlike a typical FAQ page, The Community is a place to find answers, give feedback and even share best practices. Rather than wait for an email response or a return phone call, users can find answers instantly and even contribute their own advice.
If someone in the community experiences a problem with our site, they can document it and get feedback from employees and other users. If someone has an idea for an improvement or new feature on our site, they can post a new idea. Because of its versatility, The Community presents many possibilities for VolunteerMatch to provide thorough, more personalized services to our users.
But our goals extend beyond customer service.
As a company we strive to make it easier for great people to connect with great causes and I believe the Community Powered Support Page will help us further our mission. Aside from helping users with technical issues, the Community can become a valuable resource for volunteers and nonprofits alike. Individuals new to the volunteer space can seek advice on finding a nonprofit best suited to their needs. Conversely, nonprofits can share best practices for volunteer recruitment, fundraising and event planning.
How You Can Participate
Accessing the Community Powered Support Page is easy! On the homepage you can click on the word ‘Help’ in the top right hand corner. Once you are on the page, type your question in the field at the top of the list and click ‘continue’. Look for your question in the list that appears to receive an instant answer. If you don’t see a question similar to yours, you will be prompted to create a new topic and a VolunteerMatch employee with follow up with you.
You can also access the Community Powered Support Page by clicking on the ‘Questions’ button located on the right side of the site. Don’t forget to provide a brief description of the scenario you have questions about. Providing more information will help other users find answers to their questions.
Do you have a question about how VolunteerMatch works? Have you been confused by something, or have an idea for how to make the volunteer recruitment experience better? Post it on the Community Powered Support Page. Not only will you be helping VolunteerMatch, but you’ll be helping our millions of users and supporting the volunteering movement as a whole.
So if you’re a VolunteerMatch user, please share your knowledge with others by participating in the Support Community.
To participate, all you need is a registered account at VolunteerMatch — once you’re signed in at VolunteerMatch.org, you’re automatically a part of the Support Community. So head on over right now to share your knowledge and help everyone use VolunteerMatch better.
