The New Kid on the VolunteerMatch Block

We’re thrilled to welcome a new team member to VolunteerMatch. Casey Brennan has come on board as our Marketing Manager and will be leading the charge to increase awareness and engagement of volunteers as a critical component of corporate social responsibility. Her post below was originally published on the Volunteering is CSR blog.

Casey BrennanVolunteerMatch is a growing group of professionals committed to connecting people to causes and I am proud to be the newest member of the team! Joining this week as Marketing Manager, I’ll focus on VolunteerMatch’s thought leadership in the CSR marketplace and work to bring together our community of users and clients in a meaningful way.

I recently relocated to San Francisco from Boston where I spent three years working as part of the Knowledge Leadership & Insights team for Cone LLC, a strategy and communications agency that specializes in Cause Branding, Corporate Responsibility and Nonprofit Marketing. At Cone I focused on positioning the agency as a thought leader in these hallmark disciplines, largely through conducting and sharing national consumer research studies, establishing a presence at industry conferences and maintaining a voice both online and in the media. I look forward to bringing this experience to my work at VolunteerMatch as we look to heighten the presence of volunteerism in corporate CSR activities.

To me, CSR is no longer a fringe activity for companies – it is a must do to remain competitive in today’s increasingly conscious marketplace. It is important for companies to not only approach CSR in a way that engages consumers, but to also look within their own walls to internal stakeholders (read: employees) that have a similar passion to make the world a better place. Employees are demanding involvement in their employer’s social and environmental activities, and volunteerism is the best way they can contribute and also gain a personal sense of accomplishment. I look forward to collaborating with each of you to push volunteer engagement to new heights.
