VolunteerMatch in the Creative Commons: Sign Up for More Information

“We need your service, right now at this moment in history… I am asking you to help change history’s course.” – President Obama, April 21, 2009

During National Volunteer Week, President Obama called Americans to get involved in solving critical problems in our local communities. Are you ready to join VolunteerMatch in responding to that call?

Announcing a New Way to Partner with the Web’s Volunteering Leader

VolunteerMatch now has a Creative Commons licensing option for third parties who want to distribute, promote, build upon or otherwise extend the reach of our network.

By releasing the VolunteerMatch database of service opportunities into the  Creative Commons for non-commercial use, we hope to provide third parties of all kinds with new ways to make volunteer opportunities easier to find on the Web.

How will you use VolunteerMatch opportunities? Imagine the possibilities. Build a social network Web site focusing on a specific cause. Transform a cell phone into a thrilling tool for mobile activism. Or promote your organization’s service activities in new and innovative ways. The only limit is your imagination.
