On April 19-25, a nation of volunteers will be called to serve in local communities as part of National Volunteer Week. Make sure your volunteer programs are ready for the extra interest.
National Volunteer Week can be a boon for nonprofits of all sizes. Since its launch in 1974, the event has mobilized hundreds of thousands of volunteers to get active. The theme for 2009 is “Celebrating People in Action,” honoring the individuals who dedicate themselves to taking action and solving problems in their communities.
At VolunteerMatch, we’re honored to join with our network of nearly 64,000 participating nonprofit organizations to promote and encourage the spirit of volunteerism. In fact, as part of our National Volunteer Week activities, we’ll be launching a national awareness campaign highlighting the contributions of America’s skilled volunteers.
Take a moment today to do you part to help prospective volunteers learn more about your mission and your opportunities. With just a little over a month to go, every day matters: Log in and update your account.
