The 10-year anniversary of September 11 is quickly approaching, and as you may know VolunteerMatch has joined with leading organizers of the 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance.
We’re supporting the historic effort to organize the single largest day of charitable service in U.S. history as a tribute to the 9/11 victims, survivors and those that rose in service in response to the attacks.
Even if your organization does not have a specific event planned for September 11, you can still participate in this observance simply by updating your opportunity listings to make it easier for volunteers to find you.
As over a million individuals search for ways to honor the 10-year anniversary, they’ll find your opportunity listings thanks to our partnership with event organizer MyGoodDeed. And whether they volunteer with you on September 11 or support you in the future, the connection made is certainly a fitting tribute to the spirit of 9/11 Day of Service.
Here’s how we can help you participate:
- If you haven’t already, create a free account at VolunteerMatch.org.
- Post and update your volunteer needs in the largest collection of active 9/11-related volunteer listings.
- We are already distributing your volunteer listings to our network of more than 150 partners, including 911Day.org.
- Read articles and enjoy free trainings to strengthen your work with volunteers.
Get started today! Volunteers are still looking for ways to pay tribute on 9/11 Day of Service, including pledging to volunteer with your organization.
