searchliteWe’ve just completely overhauled the process to request our SearchLite Widget. Now, you can just fill out a form to automatically receive the HTML code to put a free “lite” version of our VolunteerMatch on any Web site.

The SearchLite Widget is a popular way for CSR-minded companies, employee volunteer programs, community foundations, Web publishers, and other Web site owners to engage their Web users with a wide variety of active volunteer opportunities. It can be customized to fit the look and feel of any site.

While the time needed to install our SearchLite Widget might be small, its potential impact is not. Opportunities from our entire network of 68,000 organizations can be found through the widget, which means any Web site can become a platform for social change.

Here are some of our favorite SearchLite Widget deployments:

  • FIXNOLA.ORG - Preset to search for opportunities in the New Orleans area, the SearchLite Widget is helping individuals get involved in the Hurricane Katrina recovery effort.
  • Independent Lens/Vote Democracy – SearchLite is helping viewers of this PBS film series on democracy and engagement get involved in local issues.
  • The Way We Get By – Speaking of great films, this powerful and inspiring documentary on the volunteer service of  group of older adults is changing hearts with help. Gadgets like SearchLite can help any film become a platform for social engagement.
  • Change The World for Ten Bucks – Sticking with the change theme, this recent book from Chronicle Books is helping readers change the world with small and accessible actions. For those who want to get involved with nonprofits, SearchLite widget is just the ticket.
  • Facebook – Getting social? If you have a Facebook Page and you know how to use Facebook’s HTML Box App, installing SearchLite is a breeze. There’s no other way to get so many volunteer opportunities in Facebook. Here’s a link to our page.
  • RezHub.com – If volunteer travel or voluntourism is your bag, you can do what travel and hospitality service RezHub.com did. They flew first class by making Volunteer Travel and our SearchLite Widget part of a tabbed search system. Yeah, baby!
  • OwnEnergy – Companies with community engagement initiatives can install SearchLite to power a cause marketing program with the reach to touch every nonprofit where you work. With the ability to partner with thousands of local nonprofit agencies through VolunteerMatch, could the era of partnering with specific nonprofits be a thing of the past?
